Knitting Level 2: Mittens

Welcome back! If you've conquered the basics covered in our Knitting Level 1 class, you are ready for Knitting Level 2. 

In this class you will make a pair of mittens to expand your knitting skillset. 

Length: 4 sessions x 1.5 hours

Pattern: World’s Simplest Mittensby Tin Can Knits (Provided)

You will learn how to:

• Cast on using the long-tail method
• Knit a swatch
• Work in the round using magic loop
• Follow a written pattern and understand common abbreviations
• Combine knits and purls for ribbing stitch
• Increase and decrease
• Pick up a stitch

You should know how to:

• Cast on
• Knit and purl

Beehive will provide:

You need to bring:

• 100 g of worsted weight yarn. Light or bright shades are preferable. Suggested:

• 3.75 mm (US 5) and 4.5 mm (US 7), 80 cm (32”) circular knitting needles
• 1 tapestry needle
• 2 stitch markers
• Smooth waste yarn or 1 stitch holder

The pattern is provided for this class but students are required to purchase their own yarn, needles, and notions. Students receive a discount code for 15% off of the supplies for their class.
